A major coaching adjustment was also made today: the training should remain explicitly **IELTS General Training (GT)** rather than being framed as Academic IELTS preparation. Broader and unfamiliar reading material can still be used to strengthen general reading ability, but the target exam remains GT.

IELTS General Training — Day 12 Coaching Log

1. Overview

Day 12 focused on three major areas:

Vocabulary — moving from basic recognition toward C1/C2-level lexical precision and active usage.

Reading — testing comprehension of academic texts, especially main ideas, paraphrasing, inference, and authorial stance.

Grammar — maintaining accuracy through verb-complement patterns and controlled production.

Light Writing — applying the day’s vocabulary and grammar in a short IELTS-style response.

A major conclusion from today’s training is that my receptive English is currently stronger than my productive English. I can understand sophisticated academic material quite well, but when I produce advanced vocabulary myself, I sometimes choose a word from the correct semantic neighborhood without using the most natural collocation or grammatical pattern.
