Light is a kind of energy. Light comes from the sun. Light also comes from flashlights, candles and streetlights. Light is important because it lets us see things.
Light can pass through clear objects. Light passes through clear glass or clear plastic. But light cannot pass through objects which are not clear. Sunglasses will block some light and protect your eyes.
When you shine a flashlight on a toy, a dark shape of the toy will be formed. It is called a shadow. A shadow is made when an object blocks light. You can see many shadows on sunny day.
